The ideal time for a 4D scan is between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy.
While a 4D ultrasound is not required for routine prenatal care, it’s a special way to bond with your baby and create lasting memories. Routine diagnostic ultrasound (2D) will detect any abnormalities or health concerns, but a 4D scan offers a more immersive and emotional experience for expectant parents.
Hydrate Well
Staying well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment can improve image clarity. It is advised to drink at least 2 liters of water daily for the entirety of the pregnancy.
No Need for a Full Bladder
Unlike earlier scans, your bladder must be empty for a 4D ultrasound.
